Peer Learning

Cohorts

Our Peer Learning Cohorts are a dynamic way to share knowledge, experience, and lessons learned within education—and to channel this learning back to the “home” institution, departments, and initiatives of the participants. The focus is to create a safe, intentional, inclusive, and generative space for participants to consider together challenges and opportunities that they encounter.

A 6-month experience centered on a collaborative mindset, an inclusive culture, and meaningful relationships.

  • Our Peer Learning Cohorts are intended to create an exchange/learning/inspiration community amongst educational professionals to deepen our connections within this shared field of work, and to better position practitioners to successfully achieve their visions over the long term. Our intent has been to achieve the following goals:

    • Build an enduring community of practice across cohort participants.

    • Build individual knowledges, competencies, and skills around the practice of building and stewarding collaboration for educational impact among key participants of institutions.

    • Help participants achieve their objectives to accelerate their goals within their instution.

  • Peer Learning Cohorts convene each month for a 6 month duration. The Peer Learning program is structured around monthly Zoom sessions and a one day in-person retreat (if location permits).

  • The peer learning participant should be a high school faculty member or administrator currently working within a school setting. This person can be at any stage of their professional career, with a range of responsibilities (teaching, coaching, advising, etc.). Ideally, this person should have familiarity and history with their school to be able to effectively share experiences, successes, and challenges of the institution. In addition, participants may also want to take into consideration the process of bringing insights and knowledge back from the cohort to be shared more broadly within their schools, departments, or teams.

  • A foundational principal of how we approach this program is co-creation: we will be working with you and your fellow cohorts to envision, shape, and implement a program that will be most relevant to you and your role at the school. This is not a training program with unidirectional flow of information; rather, in the full spirit of peer learning we see this as an opportunity to hold space for all of us to collectively wrestle with the questions, challenges, and opportunities that characterize the work of education, and to learn alongside one another in the shared interest of becoming more effective in our work.

We will be regularly seeing feedback and welcoming input. We offer a basic structure for the program but embrace the opportunity to be flexible and adapt as we collectively explore how to be effective practitioners in building collaboration in service to our professions and institutions.

Each cohort will have around 10 participants, and groups will be formed based on shared interest and/or work. We will identify and calendar a regular standing monthly call that works for all, but of course understand that scheduling conflicts may periodically arise. Zoom sessions will be 90 minutes in length. We will also offer a one-day in person retreat in the spring of the cohort year.

  • The cost to participate in the 6 month Peer Learning Cohort is $1,850. This includes monthly Zoom sessions and a the full day retreat.*

Peer Learning Cohorts are a great way to connect with educators from other schools, and to share experiences in a supportive environment. Peer Learning Cohorts are rich and valuable professional opportunities, which may qualify for professional development funds from your institution.

*A one day, in-person retreat will convene in the spring of the cohort year. On-site cost (meals, facility rental, etc.) is covered in the fee. Transportation and lodging is covered by the participant.

  • There will be more information about our 2025-2026 Peer Learning Cohorts later this summer. In the meantime, contact us to learn more or join our mailing list for the latest news and information on the program.
